Captain Derek and his team took my family out on Friday July 29th. He was very knowledgeable of the waters, islands and very friendly to share information frequently. He also stopped the boat to pick up plastic! We had a spectacular time! We saw porpoise’s, salmon and herring fish farms, Finback and Minke whales. We saw seals and a bald eagle. It was a trip we will never forget! St. Andrews By the Sea is a lovely community and we hope to return again next year! 🐬🐳⚓️🥰

We went on a whale watching and nature trip and was very pleased with the trip. The boat was very comfortable with seating on the first and second deck. There were handholds everywhere if needed so we felt comfortable moving around the boat when it was moving. The captain was very competent and pleasant and the biologist on board spent a lot of time with everyone identifying wildlife and places. This trip is great for people of all ages.

Great tour that I enjoyed with my 12 year old son. The two marine biologists on board were outstanding. The lady in the storefront who sold us the tickets was polite and helpful. The boat was comfortable with two levels. The bottom level was covered and kept us dry during a small bit of rain. We saw fin and minke whales, porpoises, bald eagles, seals, and many other cool things. Totally recommend, it was the highlight of my trip.

On July 7th 2022, I decided to take my fiancee on our very first whale watching expedition. I had originally chosen island view as my cousin is the captain. But man was I ever blown away with the experience!! Just being able to cruze the water around deer island and blacks Harbour was amazing. Seeing the minke whales and the seals were added bonuses. I honestly recommend booking with island view. Not just because a family member works there but because of the knowledge they have the excellent customer service, and overall friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Don't forget to check out the awesome gift shop too!!

You can tell from the start that This is a family owned business. The family go Out of their way to make your experience the best it can be. Their marine biologist Kept us very informed by educating us on everything he possibly could on our 3 hour tour.. Highly recommend!!!

A great way to spend a few hours, no bad seat on the boat. Lots of nature to see but the best part was the boat: lots of space, shaded from sun, lots of windows, fun turbulence but in good control. Some whales, porpoises, seadogs, and birds. The marine biologist, Jill ( and Sue), were very knowledgable and approachable.
