Island Quest Marine strives to deliver Bay of Fundy tours and adventures that are highly educational and exciting, and at the same time fosters an environmentally sustainable product that offers respect for our marine wildlife and its habitat.
Setting the standard for safe, responsible, and educational whale and wildlife cruises, our bay of fundy boat tours adheres to the Bay of Fundy Whale Watchers Code of Ethics for the protection and preservation of whales and other marine wildlife.
We are also a proud Bay of Fundy Recommended Experience, awarded by the Bay of Fundy Tourism Partnership.
Departures (Atlantic Time) – Our cruises average 2.5 to 3 hours
Finback, minke, humpback, and the rare north Atlantic right whales, seals, porpoise, dolphins, the occasional shark, and bluefin tuna, to name a few.
Bald eagles, puffins, guillemot, kittiwakes, eiders, gulls, cormorants, auks, shearwaters, blue herons, terns, petrels, gannets, to name a few.
Our friendly captain and crew give expert commentary on the region’s culture, history, and wildlife!
Get up and close with creatures found on the ocean floor of the Bay of Fundy.

Island Quest Marine tours are suitable for any age. The potential for personal injury is very minimal, though sea conditions can change quickly at any time. We recommend a handhold be maintained at all times while not seated during this excursion. Prior to every departure, we ask that all participants pay strict attention to our safety briefing which explains all safety equipment and procedures while onboard our vessel.
Due to the nature of our excursions, those with pre-existing medical conditions that may require immediate medical assistance should not take part in this activity.
Passengers should always advise our staff at the time of booking if there are any needs we should be aware of.
The Island Quest team wants to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests, this includes our limited maximum booking capacity. Each and every whale watch is never fully booked which means there is always ample room aboard, whether that be downstairs in our 360* enclosed viewing deck, on our canopy-covered back deck, or our open-air upper deck.
Our sighting success rate for whales exceeds 98% over the last 23 years.
We reserve the right to cancel or alter any of our departures in the interest of passenger safety and comfort due to weather or sea conditions. If weather or unforeseen circumstances arise and we cancel, all prepaid tickets will be refunded.
Reservations are highly recommended by booking online or over the phone. Groups of 10 or more, please call to book.
1-10 passengers: 24 hours before departure time
11-20 passengers: 48 hours before departure time
21-30 passengers: 72 hours before departure time
Charters or groups over 30 passengers require a 14 day cancellation.
Our passengers rarely experience seasickness! Our captain’s boat handling and experience plays a large part in your comfort and safety. Studies have show that fewer people get seasick on a v-hull than on a motion-prone twin-hull.
